The Cypress Village Forecast
Did you miss last week's Forecast? No worries! You can always find our Cypress Village Forecast and other important news in the News section of our website.

Spirit Day on Wednesday, August 26th - Mix & Match Day
Our first spirit day of the 2020-2021 school year is Mix & Match Day! We cannot wait to see your creativity with mixing up those patterns, colors, and styles. Wear your plaids with stripes and your leopard with polka dots. Have a blast with this! As a reminder, we celebrate spirit days in all our academic models.

Spirit Day on Friday, August 28th - School Spirit Wear
Every Friday we celebrate our school spirit by wearing school spirit wear or school colors. STORM ON!

Classroom Visits
Mrs. Lambert and Mr. Forster have enjoyed their daily classroom visits. We love seeing all our Cylcone’s smiling faces. CLICK HERE to see how much we enjoy our visits. We look forward to more classroom visits throughout next week.

How Can I Support the PTA?
The easiest way to support the PTA is to become a PTA member.  It only costs $10 and anyone can join!  We like to encourage both parents to be members, plus grandparents, relatives, friends, teachers, and neighbors!  When you join the PTA, you not only receive voting rights at our general association meetings, but also access to PTA member discounts at national and local businesses. CLICK HERE for membership information. CLICK HERE to join.

Office Hours
The front office hours are 7:30am - 3:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays and Minimum Days our front office will be open 8:00am - 2:30pm. Please practice 6-ft social distancing guidelines and wear a mask while on campus.

PBIS At Home
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. PBIS is used across the US and internationally as a framework to help schools organize their school community. We can apply something similar at home. PBIS provides structure and routines. At Cypress Village Elementary, your child(ren) is already familiar with the PBIS framework. Using what they already know from school can help us develop routines for learning from home. We start by identifying 5 positively stated expectations. These expectations help us set boundaries and routines, and can apply to everything from doing schoolwork, to being online, at the dinner table, or even getting ready for bed! As parents or guardians, you are in a unique position - suddenly you are teachers, who might also be working from home, trying to manage chaos during an incredibly stressful situation. We hope this guide will offer some tips to help calm that chaos and keep everyone happy and safe. Kudos to you, parents and guardians, and all you are managing to do! https://bit.ly/cystormathome

Data Confirmation
If you have not already done so, please complete and update information online through our data confirmation process. Please click here for instructions explaining how to complete the yearly student data confirmation process through the parent portal. It is imperative that this process be completed before school begins. As part of the data confirmation process, you will be asked to read our Parent Handbook. The handbook covers a variety of pertinent guidelines and policies associated with our school and the district. Please read it carefully and review the information with your child. This information is also available on our school website. Please either print and deliver or email the Residency Verification and Health Forms to our office at CYEnroll@iusd.org

Daily Grab & Go Meals
Beginning August 20, IUSD’s Nutrition Services will serve daily grab-and-go meals at all school sites.  Meals will be available for purchase or as part of the free and reduced-price meal program for students who qualify. Parents are encouraged to apply online or log on to the Aeries Parent Portal. Click on the orange Titan icon to be taken to Titan School Solutions to create an account, add their students to their account, and complete an online application.  Online applications are available in eight different languages.  This is the fastest and safest way to complete an application.
