Academic Model Changes & Digital Platforms
If your child is transitioning from one academic model to another, starting this evening through November 15th, scheduling changes will occur.

When accessing digital resources and learning platforms, students scheduled to move will no longer see the Trimester 1 class after today, November 13th.  Students will have access to their new Canvas course, Clever apps, and district integrated programs for the newly enrolled course on Monday, November 16th

Trimester 1 report cards will be available in Parent Portal once they are finalized by the previous teacher.

If you have any questions, please email helpdesk@iusd.org.

A Note from the School Nurse
We are excited to have some new Cypress Village students joining us next Monday! We would like to take this time to remind and update everyone on health and safety measures that are in place to keep students and staff safe:

  • Daily Home Screening  - Please ensure that you go through this Daily Symptom Screener with your child before leaving for school every day. It is essential that a parent calls the attendance line at 949-936-8901 to notify the school that the student is staying home due to illness or has been in contact with a Covid positive person.
  • Illness on Campus - If a student becomes ill on campus, it will be necessary to send the student home immediately. This year we are taking extra measures to slow the spread of any possible illness by asking that parents pick up students promptly after notification that your student is ill.
  • Illness Prevention - We have implemented many measures to ensure that students and staff have the resources they need to stay healthy.

We know there is a lot of new information this year and our most important priority is keeping our students safe. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We hope that you partner with us in our efforts for a safe and healthy Cypress Village!

Trimester Academic Model Changes
Cypress Village has over 100 students moving between models at the beginning of the second trimester on Monday November 16th. Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we navigate this uncharted territory.  We are now at capacity or close to it in several classes in the traditional model and in a couple of hybrid classes. All students who are moving should have received communication about the move as well as those whose model change request was unable to be accommodated. In addition to notifying each family with the name and room number of their new class assignment, we also provided them the overview of their new model’s guidelines and procedures. Teachers will reach out to students who will be entering their class in order to provide the specifics of their class management strategies, instructional practices, grading process, etc. and a Zoom link if you are in IVA or Hybrid.

Optional OCHCA Mask Contest for Students
The OC Health Care Agency has launched a Mask Message Contest designed to engage OC students of all grades in an independent project to help normalize mask wearing. Students can enter one or all three categories:

The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19. Prizes include up to $7000 worth of technology for schools.  More information about the contest as well as social media, flyers and a toolkit may be found at http://www.ochealthinfo.com/maskcontest. Please note this is optional.  If you choose to share information about the contest with your families the toolkit has pre-drafted information, including a flier, which may be helpful.

Free and Reduced Lunch Price Applications Available in the Front Office or On-Line
