IPSF proudly announces ACE is back On Campus at Cypress Village!
CLICK HERE for flyer

The Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) is excited to offer two ACE (Afterschool Classroom Enrichment) classes right after school on the Cypress Village campus for nominal fees. These STEM-based classes are open to grades 1-6. To register, go to www.ipsfacademyorg

At this time, only Cypress Village traditional model students may participate. Student and staff health and safety is our priority; IPSF adheres to all local, state, and federal health guidelines. Classes will be limited to a maximum of 10 students, with social distancing and face coverings in place during class. IPSF requires parents to sign a COVID-19 participation waiver. Contact IPSF at ipsfacademy@ipsf.net with questions.

Playground and 6th Grade Promotion- In the past week, we have allowed our students to play on our playground structures while following our local health agencies guidelines. We are also excited to announce that we will have an end-of-the-year Promotion Ceremony for our 6th graders.  For our playgrounds, per guidelines from our local health agencies and given the continued lowering numbers of Covid-19 cases across our county, we are comfortable and confident in adding back these play options for our students.  Playground safety plans include:

  • The play structures will be sanitized each morning before the start of school;
  • Additional hand sanitizing stations outside near the structures;
  • We will continue to follow our current hand sanitizing guidelines as we enter into the building from recess and lunch;
  • We will continue with our current cohort recess and lunch protocols; Thus, students will only be able to play on the play structures when it is their cohort’s assigned play zone.

With respect to the promotion event, we intend to host this event, in-person, at the end of the school year here at Cypress Village.  As many of you may have heard, our high schools will be having in-person graduation ceremonies this year as well.  More details will follow as we will work on planning this event in concert with the guidelines provided by our health agencies to provide the safest event possible and one that can maximize attendance for families.  Stay tuned!

Intent to Return
In order for Cypress Village and IUSD to plan for the 2021-22 school year, it is important that we understand our families’ academic model preferences.  Although we are still awaiting direction from the state and local health care agencies regarding physical distancing requirements, we are committed to having full time, in person offerings for all of our students, TK-12 for the start of the 2021-2022 school year.  In addition, we will continue to offer virtual instruction through IUSD’s Virtual Academy.

Based on what we know now, we ask that you select your preferred academic model based on this current information.  Please click on this link: Intent to Return and it will direct you to the Aeries Parent Portal.  From here, please log in and it will send you directly to the Intent to Return form. Once on the Intent to Return screen, click on the “+Add” button on the right hand side and this is where you will respond to only a few questions.    If you need additional “how to” assistance in this process, please click hereWe ask that this be completed no later than March 22, 2021. Once we have determined the final structure for in-person education and prior to the start of the school year, we will provide an opportunity for you to adjust your model selection, if needed.  This initial step is vital for our planning and we thank you for completing this necessary step.

IPSF Ambassador Alert - January 2021
PATS SUPPORTS GRANTS FOR OUR SCHOOL!
You may have recently seen Irvine Public Schools Foundation’s announcement of their 2021 Innovative Grants Program awards. Cypress Village teachers have been fortunate to receive IPSF grants in the past, and we look forward to the opportunity to apply again in the future. These grants have the power to bring amazing ideas to life and continue to keep our school and district on the leading edge of innovative teaching and learning!

The Innovative Grants Program is made possible by IPSF thanks to the support of parents like you. Donations to the Parents Appreciating Teachers and Staff (PATS) campaign directly support teacher grants. PATS is an easy way to show our teachers, nurses, and staff how much we appreciate all that they do! For a small donation, IPSF provides the teachers and staff of your choice a certificate of appreciation, which includes a personal message from your family.

To support the PATS campaign and make a donation in honor of a teacher or staff member, please visit: https://ipsf.net/pats.

IPSF has awarded over $2 million to teachers and counselors, benefiting over 200,000 students over the past 25 years. For more information about this year’s recipients, please visit: https://ipsf.net/news/ipsf-awards-2021-innovative-grants/.

Thank you for your support and appreciation of our school, our classrooms, and our teachers!

GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SUPPORT
Educational excellence may have looked different in 2020, but with the help of our community of supporters, IPSF was able to rise to the challenge and provide vital support to our Irvine schools and students. We invite you to view our 2020 highlights video as a way of saying thank you for helping strengthen our mission at a time when it was needed most.
