Bell Schedule
Please CLICK HERE for the updated bell schedule. We have made some small adjustments this school year. Please look carefully at Wednesday dismissal time.

Parent Reminder
We respectfully request parents to leave campus once their 1st through 6th-grade child enters their classroom in the morning. This will allow our students who have PE on the playground first thing in the morning to have the space needed to conduct PE, and allow those students to travel to music, STEAM Lab, or science lab right after school begins without having to walk around or avoid parents who may be congregating on the playground or blacktop area. Additionally, during the time between primary and upper-grade dismissal, it is important to stay out of the way of our upper-grade classes when they are on the playground for PE or other activities between 2:15 - 2:37.  Our intent isn't to create a rigid rule, but simply to make sure there is enough space for our teachers to conduct their classes, minimize interruptions to the classes, and allow our students to participate safely in the activities. Thank you for your cooperation!

Fall Fun Day - Friday, October 29th
All students are invited to dress up in their favorite costume on Friday, October 29th for fall fun day. Please have your child follow the guidelines below when they are considering their costumes:

  • Children come to school dressed in their costume. We will not allow costume changes to take place at school.
  • Children should wear a costume that can be comfortably worn throughout the entire day.
  • Be sure to have your children wear proper clothes and underclothes underneath their costume just in case they find their costume to be too hot or uncomfortable and wish to take it off before the day is over.
  • Children may not wear masks that depict violent or frightening characters to school. (Child cartoon character masks that are part of an overall costume are acceptable.)
  • Children may not wear make-up to school. (For example, no full face makeup, no dripping blood, no make-up on hands that will smear on papers.)
  • Children should not bring any object that they will need to hold in their hands. Of special emphasis is our State Education Code that states children may not bring any toy weapons to school of any sort at any time.
  • Children should not come in costumes that depict any kind of graphic violence.
  • Children should be discouraged from wearing any costume material that could be easily damaged.

School Site Council Members Needed
Looking for a way to become involved? Cypress Village's School Site Council (SSC) is in need of more parent members. The SSC is a collaborative group comprised of staff members and parents that meets 5 times a year. The group discusses various school initiatives and programs associated with the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). It is a great way to get involved in the school and see first-hand, new and existing programs, and to be a part of a collaborative effort to meet the needs of all Cypress Village students. If you are interested in being a part of Cypress Village’s School Site Council, please CLICK HERE to fill out our interest form.

Traffic, Bike and Pedestrian Safety
The Irvine Police Department, in partnership with IUSD and the PTA, has created a traffic safety video with important tips for pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers in and around school zones, driveways and crosswalks.  When it comes to the safety of our students on the roadways, we're in this together! Let’s get them to and from school safely.

IPD Traffic Safety Tips:

  • Leave early. You won’t have to rush if you plan for a little extra time.
  • Obey all traffic, bike and pedestrian laws and signs, especially in school zones.
  • When biking or skating wear a proper fitting helmet.
  • Drop children off in the designated locations. Do not allow children to get out of the car in the middle of the street.
  • Remember that everyone has the same goal of getting their children to school safely, so be patient with other drivers and pedestrians.
  • Always obey crossing guards.
  • Always use crosswalks.
  • Do not engage in distracted driving. This is especially dangerous in school zones.
  • IPD traffic officers patrol the streets near schools to ensure safety. Remember to slow down and make complete stops at stop signs.

IPSF: Ignite Potential
IPSF is honored to be one of the outstanding organizations participating in the Igniting Potential community initiative to raise funds to support the youth in Orange County. Funds raised for IPSF today will specifically support mental health resources in our schools. During this turbulent time, it is even more crucial for us to support the well-being of the whole child, including mental health.

For this day, IPSF Board Chairman Mike Breller and his wife Peilin would like to challenge the community to match the $10,000 they’ve raised from the generosity of their friends! In addition, all donations are also matched by City of Irvine. It is only with your support that we can reach our $20,000 goal!

Give today and double your impact!
