Transitional Kindergarten- Transitional Kindergarten (“TK”) is expanding and evolving beginning next school year to include more students. TK will be now known as Pre-Kindergarten (“PK”). The age requirement for Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K), for the 2022-2023 school year includes children who will turn 5 years of age between September 2 - February 2. At this time, Cypress Village is slated to have one PK class for the 22-23 school year. Information is here on the IUSD’s website including new birth date and enrollment eligibility, and class information.

Tournament of Champions: Hoops Classic (Basketball)
Calling all 3rd-6th graders! Sign up for the 17th Annual Hoops Classic Basketball Tournament. Play for Cypress Village and compete against other Irvine schools for the city championship on March 25-27, 2022. We need players and coaches.

Young Masters Art Contest
Calling all artists! Submit your entries for the Young Masters Art Show Cover Contest! The theme for this year’s cover contest is Discover the Stories of Orange County. Donate Clothes and Shoes
Cypress Village is thrilled to partner with US’Again and to have an UsAgain Tree Machine box on our campus.  This is a great and convenient way for you to donate your used clothing and shoes and to help the environment at the same time.  US’Again takes these donations and gives them a new life, keeping them out of landfills and even plants a tree every time we fill the bin.  Thank you for your participation in this great recycling program!

The Irvine Children's Fund (ICF) is announcing the kick off and celebration of the 33rd ANNUAL IRVINE JUNIOR GAMES (IJG), which will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the Irvine High School Stadium.

The Irvine Junior Games celebrates its 33rd year, and its continued growth and success because of the partnership between the IUSD, the Irvine Child Care Project, the Irvine Children's Fund, and the Irvine Junior Games.  There continues to be 100% participation from all the elementary and middle schools with more than 1,200 students in grades 4-8 participating in the track and field events, including special events for the Adaptive P.E. students.

As this is a fundraising event for child care at Irvine school sites there will be a $40 charge to each participating athlete, which will include the athlete's participation and an IJG T-shirt. See the website for details about events students can participate in.

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA)
OCTA is excited to announce the extension of their “Youth Ride Free” promotional bus pass program.  This free youth pass allows youth ages 6 to 18 to ride all OC fixed-route buses every day for free. The initial yellow Youth Ride Free passes expire February 28, 2022; new blue Youth Ride Free passes are valid from March 1 to September 30, 2022 and require a new Parent Request Form.  For information regarding the program visit: OCbus.com/YouthRideFree. To participate in the program complete a new Parental Request Form, available using the below links, printed forms are also available in the front office.  Return the completed and signed form to the front office to be issued a blue youth bus pass.
